"...an animating force in physiology"

As radical as it may sound today, bioelectricity has been used in the West since  46 A.D. It was then that a Greek physician advocated the health benefits of standing on a wet beach near an electric eel. By the 19th century, more than 10,000 medical practitioners in the US alone used bioelectric devices to treat patients. But in 1910, electrotherapy fell into disfavor when a Carnegie Foundation report by Abraham Flexner concluded that it had no scientific basis. Interest was revived in 1985 when a book entitled "The Body Electric" was written by orthopedic surgeon Robert 0. Becker. He discussed and advocated the concept of the use of electricity as an "animating force" in physiology.

The use of bioelectricity also comes from Dr. Bjorn Nordenstrom, former chairman of the Nobel Assembly, who theorized that the body's blood-circulation system works closely with a system of "biologically closed electric circuits."

MCT has been under development of nearly five (5) years by Newmark, Inc., a leading manufacturing recognized in the medical industry for its contributions to electrode design and production. Newmark is an ISO9001 Certified company and FDA registered manufacturer. For details on this company, visit their site.
